如何做好SAT考試閱讀題

如何做題:
1. 永遠(yuǎn)要記得回讀原文,不要依靠自己的回憶以及自己之前學(xué)習(xí)過(guò)的知識(shí)來(lái)做題;
2. 你的每一個(gè)答案一定要由原文中的單詞或句子來(lái)支撐;
3. +5原則,如果給你行號(hào)了,需要向上向下多讀5行來(lái)做具體判斷;
比如有這樣一道題:
Theauthor mentions “an impish Christ child with charmingly flushed cheeks” (lines56-58) in order to
A.Providean example of the fresco’s lifelike figures
B.DescribeGiotto’s naturalistic style.
C.RescueCavallini’s name from obscurity
D.Suggestthat it could help solve the “St. Francis Legend.”
做這道題的時(shí)候,即便可以記得住具體的行號(hào),但是還要回原文。
Mr.Strinati has grand ambitions

widespread notion that the first flowers
of the Renaissance budded in Florence,

對(duì)于這道題來(lái)說(shuō),如果只是讀56-58行,是沒(méi)有辦法做出來(lái)的,需要你向上向下多讀幾行,然后理解清楚這句話(huà)所在的整個(gè)的Context之后會(huì)有更好的選擇。當(dāng)我們向上讀可以看到fresco’s lifelike figures的時(shí)候,基本上明白了,56-58是lifelike figure的一種,所以A沒(méi)什么問(wèn)題。有些同學(xué)會(huì)容易錯(cuò)選B,注意原文說(shuō)的是 been credited to,是指人們認(rèn)為,所以不能無(wú)法確認(rèn)是百分百的Giotto的風(fēng)格,所以B錯(cuò)誤。
做題的順序:
每篇文章后面的題目順序是基本差不多的,先是Passage Level的問(wèn)題,包括問(wèn)你整篇文章的Main point, Structure, Main Concern, theauthor’s tone, the author’s assumption;然后再是一些Sentences Level的問(wèn)題,會(huì)問(wèn)你一些Rhetoric,或者Logic的問(wèn)題,目前新的SAT有時(shí)候會(huì)給你一些行號(hào)讓你索引,有些題目則需要你從你的記憶中去索引具體的細(xì)節(jié),此外還包括一些Vocabulary Level的題目,主要是一些Vocabulary in Context的問(wèn)題;比較后幾題有可能又會(huì)回到Passage Level。
我們建議在做題的時(shí)候,盡可能的按照題目的順序來(lái)做題,如果有時(shí)候該題答案不確定,可以先做個(gè)記號(hào),然后等待其他題目處理完之后再回頭看這個(gè)問(wèn)題,這樣你可以保證你的每一分鐘都有所產(chǎn)出。
選擇答案:
請(qǐng)記住,所有的正確答案都是可以在原文中尋找到的,這些答案可能被外在的信息所支持,或者被你做的一些推理所支持,或者被上下文所支持,或者需要你總結(jié)文章中一些散在的點(diǎn),然后得出正確的答案。
預(yù)判:
我們做題的一個(gè)比較好的策略就是預(yù)判,在這點(diǎn)上我個(gè)人不是非常贊同很多老師所講的“比較選項(xiàng)”的策略。特別是對(duì)于選項(xiàng)區(qū)分度不高,或者你原文看的比較模糊,或你沒(méi)有準(zhǔn)確方向的難題,看完答案之后再比較選項(xiàng),一來(lái)容易浪費(fèi)時(shí)間,再者會(huì)容易陷入比較選項(xiàng)的怪圈----越看越覺(jué)得兩個(gè)答案都對(duì)。
所謂的“預(yù)判”,是指在你看選項(xiàng)的答案之前,自己先預(yù)先用自己的話(huà)總結(jié)一下答案可能出現(xiàn)的表達(dá)方式,正確答案一定要包含哪個(gè)關(guān)鍵信息等。當(dāng)你帶著預(yù)判去選擇答案的時(shí)候,你會(huì)比較從容的選出正確答案來(lái)。
例如:
通過(guò)上面我們所看到的practice的文章,有如下的題目:
The primary purpose of the passage is to
A.Argueagainst a general misconception about insight
B.Recommendto the scientists the great approach of using “insight” when solving problems
C.Discussthe better way to solve a problem
D.Explainthe reasons for difference between insightful moments and passively solvingproblems
我們先預(yù)判一下,我們已經(jīng)確定了這篇文章是Informative—summary 的文章類(lèi)型,那么我們可以非常明確的預(yù)判了,那么很容易排除ABC(都是Argumentative的文章才會(huì)用的單詞—argue against, recommend, discuss),那么選出D是比較容易的
排除法 (POE:Process of Elimination):
我們看一下所對(duì)應(yīng)的題目:
Based on the passage, which choice bestdescribes the relationship between the fresco cycle titled the “St. FrancisLegend” and the artist Giotto?
A.Thefresco cycle established Giotto as the founder of the Renaissance.
B.Cavalliniwas originally thought to be the fresco cycle’s artist, but many art historiansnow believe it was Giotto.
C.Giottowas originally thought to be the fresco cycle’s artist, but some art historiansnow believe it was Cavallini.
D.Giottopainted the fresco cycle to capture the story of his life with narrative zest.
我們先回原文定位,然后可以找到如下的段落:

首先我們對(duì)這道題做一下預(yù)判,這道題需要把整個(gè)第6段讀完才可能給出一個(gè)恰當(dāng)?shù)慕忉專(zhuān)旧衔覀兛梢灶A(yù)判答案為: for centuries…大家都以為這個(gè)legend是Giotto做的,但是現(xiàn)在很多科學(xué)家相信是Cavallini做的。帶著這樣的預(yù)判,我們掃一下選項(xiàng)哪個(gè)正確。
選項(xiàng)A: Go too Far. 文章沒(méi)有提到Giotto是founder of the Renaissance. 文章只是說(shuō)”St. Francis Legend” is a foundational piece ofart in the Renaissance。這兩者顯然是不一樣的。
選項(xiàng)B: Contradictory. 這個(gè)比較容易排除。
選項(xiàng)C:OK
選項(xiàng)D: Contradictory. 與B一樣比較容易排除。
比較好的選項(xiàng)(BC: BestChoices):
永遠(yuǎn)要記。耗阋x擇的選項(xiàng)是相比于其他選項(xiàng)比較好的,而不是你主觀上比較想要的。有些題目可能會(huì)讓你一眼選出你要選擇的答案,但是有時(shí)候可能會(huì)出現(xiàn)如下的情況:
(1)你發(fā)現(xiàn)不止一個(gè)選項(xiàng)正確,因?yàn)閮蓚(gè)選項(xiàng)都講了其中的一個(gè)方面,即選項(xiàng)都是你要選擇的選項(xiàng)的某個(gè)子集;
(2)你發(fā)現(xiàn)沒(méi)有一個(gè)選項(xiàng)合適,都跟你的預(yù)判相差太大,所以導(dǎo)致選擇不出答案;
我們看一下來(lái)自于Cavallini Passage的題目
The passage most strongly suggests that theRenaissance
A.beganin the 1930s.
B.hadroots in neither Rome nor Florence.
C.beganin numerous Italian cities simultaneously.
D.featurednaturalistic styles of painting.
A和B比較容易排除,與原文內(nèi)容直接相反;C和D比較難以選擇。
我們之所以不選擇C,是因?yàn)镃在原文中根本就沒(méi)有提到Other Places(可能學(xué)過(guò)歐洲史的同學(xué)認(rèn)為它是對(duì)的),所以不去選擇C;而比較終選擇D,D的信息在文章的55-62行有提到過(guò)。
對(duì)于比較難以排除的選項(xiàng),主要做好以下兩個(gè)事情:
1.保證文章中有證據(jù)來(lái)支持你的選項(xiàng),雖然有些選項(xiàng)也使用了原文中的一些單詞和句子,但是使用了這個(gè)單詞的另外的含義;
2.不要過(guò)度推理:如果有個(gè)選項(xiàng),你要想選擇它的話(huà),需要增加很多假設(shè)、額外推理或利用外部知識(shí)等,那么這樣的選項(xiàng)就不要選擇。
